Nautical 42: SY Victoria

When you choose to live a sailing life at anchor instead of in marinas your anchor becomes your most important friend. After 10.000 views of my “storm video” from ILHA GRANDE many sailors have asked me about VICTORIA’s anchor setup. So here it is. It’s a 33kg ROCNA galvanized anchor with 100 meters of 10mm galvanized anchor chain connected with a large twist swivel by Osculati and a heavy duty marine shackle by Wichard. The breaking load of each element is 6 tons. VICTORIA has 2 not 1 identical ROCNA main anchors ⚓️ + ⚓️ and also 2 not 1 identical anchor windlasses. Redundancy is key. I’m proud to say that ever since installing my first ROCNA it has never failed to give me safety and peace at anchor even during stormy conditions. Thank you ROCNA for that!
